IGDA Kymenlaakso and Xamk are together helping the gaming community in Kymenlaakso find out how to pitch, demo and show their games in a professional and efficient way. Perfectly before the Demo Day at Xamk, so that the students can learn from the best before they step up on the stage themselves.
Xamk and IGDA Kymenlaakso have gathered a panel of game industry experts when it comes to pitching and demoing games, and with a teacher as the moderator to make sure all the questions relevant to the students are asked.
This event is not only for Xamk students, but it is aimed towards students - however if you are interested in the panelists and the topic, you are welcomed to join!

This time, we dive into Odysseus – First Light, an ambitious Finnish sci-fi larp project by Ellarion Tales.
24.3.2026 at Saaristobaari (Club side)
18.00 Doors open
18.30 Program Starts
Odysseus is a large-scale Finnish sci-fi larp, originally run in 2019 and remastered in 2024. Set aboard a fully immersive spaceship environment, it combines live-action roleplay, worldbuilding, and character-driven storytelling in a story of survival, hope, and sacrifice.
During the evening, Antti Kumpulainen (Production, Narrative Design, Logistics) will open up what makes Odysseus such a unique production, how a large-scale larp of this kind is created, and what the next chapter of the project looks like. From design and storytelling to production scale, logistics, and community-building, the session offers a fascinating look into one of Finland’s most ambitious immersive game projects.
We will also hear about the practical realities of running a project like this: funding, people, spaces, construction, lessons learned from past events, and how player characters and choices can lead to very different experiences within the same larp.
The talk will also touch on the project’s ongoing crowdfunding campaign and ways to get involved.

Whether you are interested in larps, immersive experiences, narrative design, or large-scale game production, this meetup is a great chance to learn more and join the discussion.

🗣️ Let's speak Finnish/Swedish! Cafe Lingua in the next Helsinki Hub meeting for the game industry professionals.
In some near or not-so-near future, are you aiming to participate in language tests to gain Finnish citizenship? Would you like to improve your skills in the language by chatting in Finnish or Swedish with someone who is native in those languages? IGDA Finland and Neogames are piloting Cafe Lingua to support this. In Cafe Lingua, you can speak Finnish or Swedish with the volunteers, with the everyday life topics that can be part of the YKI tests.
Cafe Lingua takes place between 17-17.45 in Maxine. There's a sofa area reserved for this, with Finnish and Swedish flags on the table.
What you need with you? Just you, and your willingness to speak Finnish or Swedish. Ideas for topics etc. are available at the table.
Are you a Finnish or Swedish speaker, and interested to join? You can join Cafe Lingua to chat in your native language! We have recruited volunteers to join, but it never hurts to have more hands on deck. All you need with you is your willingness to speak Finnish and Swedish with someone, who is learning the language.
